3 Easy Steps To Effective Time ManagementBy April D'Angelo On January 5, 2010 Under Leadership
Your values once defined will be a steady guide to keeping you on your path towards success. But without the principle of priorities in place there will be no forward motion.
I’m going to give you three questions to answer and focus your days around to get you on the right track.
1) What are your specific requirements? In order to make a true assessment of your priorities in any area of your life you must first know what is required of you. What is required of you to be a great husband or father? What is required of you to perform well in your business? If you are in a leadership role you should ask yourself what must you personally do that cannot be delegated to anyone else? When getting your priorities in order it is important to start with the requirements question and give it some honest thought before moving on.
2) What yields the greatest return? It is important to note that some activities produce a much higher return for the efforts than do others. Those who don’t pay attention to this factor probably won’t be making much progress. Once you know what yields the highest returns you should next be placing your focus on these areas.
3) What is the most rewarding for you? It is of course important to do those things that are effective in order to be the most productive. But this alone may not leave you satisfied and content as a person. It’s still important to consider what brings you satisfaction as well. I would like to point out that there are those like to start at question #3 and go no further. This I do not recommend.
In order to find success you must possess the discipline to execute the first two steps before adding the third.
